Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Sea View receives high praise for its perfectly cooked, crisp fish, particularly the cod and haddock. The generous portions and attention to quality, using clean oil for frying, keep customers returning for more.

Another crowd-pleaser is the lively atmosphere, enhanced by friendly and efficient staff. This restaurant excels in providing a joyful dining experience, whether it's a solo meal or a gathering with friends. Many diners appreciate the little thoughtful touches, like the proper fish knives and lemon squeezing devices, that contribute to the overall experience. Guests also rave about the variety on the menu, including options for non-seafood lovers, highlighting the inclusive approach to dining.

Most Disliked

Despite the overwhelmingly positive reviews, some visitors note that peak hours can mean longer wait times for tables. Saturdays at dinner are especially busy, making reservations a smart choice for those who dislike waiting.

A few customers have mentioned that during busy periods, the noise level can rise, which might detract from a more relaxed dining experience. In particular, shouting children and chaotic group dynamics can overwhelm quieter diners. There are also mentions of occasional overcooked sides, proving that consistency can vary during the busiest times. Overall, these minor inconveniences do not overshadow the restaurant's reputation for delicious food.

Great food, cooked with clean oil. Served quickly and with nice touches like a proper fish knife, lemon squeezing device and dark choc mints with the bill. All with a sea view. Clean shop and toilets, no oily smell in the restaurant either. Definitely recommend.

This was a lovely chippy. The food tasted fresh, was hot and with the shop just opposite of the beach, it was a lovely lunch to have. Would recommend and return. PS sorry for the photo. Was excited to take a snap of our furry friends travelling but didn't want them to fall into the actual food 😅

Absolutely superb! Had to wait a short while to get in as was quite busy but well worth the wait. Friendly, helpful & efficient staff. Location right on the seafront made it more enjoyable. Couldn’t think of going elsewhere else for fish & chips in Deal

A truly lovely fish & chip place. They had a variety of fish but also, for those that don't eat fish, there was plenty of choice on the menu. Staff were friendly & lovely, food was amazing and lots of it. We dined in and I had Haddock and chips with a lovely side salad. Definitely recommend this place & definitely will go again when in the area

Our bowls club coach drops us off opposite the Sea View restaurant. And tbh it's a great choice for lunch before our match with Deal bowls club. 3 of us had the medium cod & chips & one of us had the Skate wing & chips. The cod was really good with perfect batter & lovely flaky white fish. The skate wing was enormous and would easily feed 2 diners. All the chips were nicely cooked. It's probably not the cheapest fish & chips in Deal but it's got to be one of the best. 100% recommended.
